Day 16: Delta’s Last Day on Water

Posted Thursday, August 4th, 2011 at 12:49 pm

Today was our last day out on the water, so we decided to make the most of it! We woke up at 5:45 in the morning to head ashore for a hike to one of the peaks of Ille Forchue. There was a beautiful view from up top: one almost see all of the islands that we had visited. As we sat there and took in the view, curious sea birds wheeled overhead, and everyone took some time to savor our last morning away from the mainland.

We then headed back down to boats for breakfast, and two hour sail to Ille Tintimarre, the same beautiful little island we visited on our very first day out on the boats. Both boats ate lunch and began a deep clean of the boats, and began packing. After a couple hours of cleaning, we headed ashore for some quality time on white sand beach of Tintimarre.

We then had to head back to boats so that we could motor sail over to Oyster pond in time for docking the boats, and having showers on docks. All of us then went out for an excellent dinner at the “Dinghy Dock Bar.” After dinner, we had a couple hours of awards and skits celebrating the more hilarious moments of the trip. The rest of the evening was spent hanging out with eachother, and writing airplane letters.
