This morning everyone woke up to a breakfast of “Croissants” and “Pain au Chocolat” picked up from the local bakery. Folks then cleaned our boats so that everyone could head out to explore more of St. Barths. Some groups headed out on more “jeep tours” of the island, while others headed in to Gustavia to explore its large variety of shops, and others walked to a nearby beach.
Everyone came back to boats in time for lunch before preparing for a challenge dinner: The two boats were given a set amount of money and sent off to the grocery store to buy whatever supplies they wanted for each of their dinners.
We then headed back to boats in order to prepare for departure to Anse de Colombier: a small bay just north of Gustavia that is unique because there are no roads to it, and it is a marine protected area. After a challenge blindfolded mooring, everyone had some time to review their knowledge of sailing with staff members before taking boat showers and starting their challenge dinner. The crew aboard Full Deck decided to make “Breakfast for Dinner” and made stuffed pancakes, hash browns, and Bacon , while the crew aboard Shere Khan made an Italian spread of Chicken Parmesan, with Pasta, garlic bread, and a desert of “Doodle Dums:” pretzels with melted Hershey kisses and an m&m on top! Both meals were “five star,” and everyone was stuffed by the end of the evening
