The Foxies awoke early at a new location, the Baths on Virgin Gorda. Everyone shuttled ashore for a gorgeous hikel (hike and snorkel) through the caves and over around the reef. Caroline, Rachel and Sloane saw a huge octopus on their way back! After everyone was back ashore, jump rock was set up for a few second free fall into the clear water. After a bit of jumping, it was time to head back to the boats and prepare for the last sail. Both crews headed to Cooper Island and gave the boat a thorough cleaning.
When the boats were spotless there was some hang out time in the water where Berlin pulled out the lifejackets to float around and Geneve took one last ocean shower. Back at Hodges, Nicolas and Becca docked the boats like the professionals they now are. Since the boats were already cleaned the students got one more chance to use their phones and call home and a freshwater shower on the docks. At 6 pm the pizza came for a local pizza dinner and each boat prepared their skits for the awards ceremony. At the awards ceremony each boat was awarded with the win for competitions. Berlin won the sandart, dizzy fender, cake baking contest and chili cook off taste. Geneve won tug of war, the turtle race, the chili cook off theme and presentation and the race to Peter Island. Then the students took their hand at imitating the staff members and in return the staff had their opportunity. Everyone’s cheeks hurt from laughing at the very accurate portrayals of everyone. The crews had one last boat meeting discussing the funniest moments of the trip and writing plane letters to each other. The late night powerdown of midnight was plenty late enough after such a full day.
