The three Fleet 2 boats left Leverick Bay early in the morning before the sun rose, under direction of the staff with the students still asleep. After the sun came up, the captains woke their crews with muffin cake, and after cleanup the sails were raised and the boats headed for Long Bay. They crews arrived safely and then did a superb job of anchoring for the first time. Carlos guided Bang Bang past the Dogs and Will led the crew of Sao Jorge through a few jibes. Connor took the helm in Vivaldi’s departure from Leverick Bay, and then handed it over to Craig and Max.
Once all of the Fleet 1 and Fleet 2 boats had their anchors set, the students had fun mixing with other boats. Joe, Heather, and Aaron worked on their dive homework. Nat, John, Carlos, Shannon, Sami, Tara, Emma, and Igor had fun swimming around the boats. Eric, Gabby, Mike, and Alex continued to work on their Advanced Open Water certification. Georgia, Dylan, Craig, and Matt also spotted a stingray on their snorkel. Dinner was alfredo shrimp pasta made in delicious style as usual by each boat’s dinner chefs of the day. After all the pots and pans were cleaned and sorted, the crews relaxed together and enjoyed a quiet night on board and boat meetings. The students had a fun time discussing their favorite parts of their teen sailing adventure thus far, and then headed to bed ready for day nine to arrive.
