Today was an epic beach day! Our morning was spent cruising around taking turns cruising around in convertibles and getting in quality beach time on the famous airport beach of St. Barths. Hannah and Eric spent the day reminding everyone to drink water and put on sunscreen so everyone seems to have made it through the day relatively unscathed.
Everyone returned to the boats having gotten in a thorough tour of the island, a nap or two on the beach, and a virgin drink… or three. Everyone was happy to have the chance to recharge their bodies batteries after having done two long sails.
After showers, everyone walked on over to the Famous “Le Select” known for its “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” where everyone ate cheeseburgers, even Chloe, who said, “How could I not!!?” Of course, Titus ate a double cheeseburger, and Zach made a point of eating an extra hot dog. After dinner, we all went to the Creperie to get a night treat: most folks got some ice cream, before heading back to the boats to get in some proper time to appreciate a long full day.
This morning we woke up to rain! Lots of it! Luckily, our plan for the morning had been to hit up shops, so everyone was able to dodge the showers by going from store to store. Various souvenirs, from bumper stickers, to jewelry were bought, before everyone met back up at boats for a lunch of cous cous salad.
After lunch, both boats set out on the ultimate challenge: To plan, and buy an entire dinner for their respective boats based on a given budget! Everyone had to learn how to work as a group to decide what they wanted to create. After returning from their shopping adventure, the two boats have headed off to take showers, before we will dedock later this afternoon and head over to Anse Colombier.
Needless to say, we are all excited to see the island of St. Barths from a different perspective, as well as to see how our challenge dinners work out tonight!!! Due to the weather, we have decided to change the date of our night sail, so we are all looking forward to an early departure tomorrow to sail to St. Kitts!
