Today we woke up at the BEYC and departed for Vixen Point where we had our Sail Caribbean Olympics on the beach. Olympics is a day full of beach fun where the two boats on Alpha compete in events and show off their boat pride! We started off the games with Dizzy Fender where Wind Whisper won the first round. Next we had Tug of War, with The Prosecutor pulling off the win. We then buried our Captains, and made them into sand art! The next competition was synchronized swimming. We ended the competition with a swimming race back the boats. For now though, all of the students have to wait in suspense to hear who the winner of Alpha’s Olympics, which will be announced on Awards Night! After our swim back to the boats, we dropped the mooring ball and headed off to VYGH. Then we anchored for lunch at St Thomas Bay and waited till the wind calmed down for docking. During the sail Hannah and Daniel steered the boat through channels. Steven led the crew on the Prosecutor to anchor the boat perfectly. Finally after the storm passed we headed in for the docks. Daniel docked Wind Whisper first, and helping him was Sam, Olivia, Liz, and Brianna on the fenders. On the Prosecutor, Steven had an amazing docking with Mark, Alex, and Lindsey throwing the docklines. After passing our cleaning inspections perfectly, we headed to grab some cokes and take fresh water showers. For dinner, we cooked chili and had a cookoff with the other boat and the Sierra boat. The Prosecutor’s theme was ninjas, Wind Whisper’s was Pirates, and Sierra’s was zombie monsters. All the chili was really good, and it will be a tough decision for the judges on the winner of theme and taste. We ended the night hanging out with each other, playing card games, and enjoying our time on docks.
