Charlie 3 Trip Update Day 5- Luke Whitcraft, Mate
Today we enjoyed a late start to the day, we woke up at 8.30. Everyone on Monet and Venture enjoyed a hearty breakfast of oatmeal. We finished cleaning up breakfast and then prepped the boats for departure and sail over to Village Cay in Road Town. Getting off the ball at 9:30, we raised sails and began heeling over heading upwind at 8 knots. After a great sail the boat got a deep clean and was ready for docking. On arrival students stretched their legs ashore and explored Road Town. Igor, Culver, and Travis went to the Village Cay Marina store and enjoyed burgers before their afternoon dive. Arina, Cherokee, and Eliza went to the Ice cream shop and got some shakes. Afterwards, everyone on Charlie fleet got on the dive boat for a Dive at the Fearless, which is a sunken mine sweeper from WWII. Tonights dinner was Mahi Mahi, broccoli and rice! Our Program Director Eric said it was some of the best he’s ever had. After dinner Monet staff and students met to write up their full value contract. This is an agreement saying what the students want on the boat and want they don’t want on the boat. After the full value contract everyone fell asleep, excited to see what tomorrow will bring.
