Sierra 2 Trip Update Day 20 – Graham, Program Director

For our final day on the water, Sierra 2 woke up at 7:30 a.m. at Cooper Island to eat breakfast before a 9:00 a.m. snorkel around Cistern Rock.  It was our final snorkel of the trip, and a great last taste of the waters we’ve come to know so well.  Then it was time to dinghy ashore to take boat photos and play some beach games.  Students especially enjoyed playing a team building exercise in which they had to get all of their team from one side of a palm tree to the other, without touching the ground. It was a great way to wind out the morning!

After successfully completing that challenge, it was back to Geneve and Berlin to drop our mooring balls and take a final sail across Sir Francis Drake Channel to Hodges Creek Marina.  Upon reaching docks, we deep cleaned the boats, wrote plane letters to each others, and prepared skits for this evening’s show!  We had a delicious dinner of pizza, and the staff and crew performed the skits they planned.  As the night winded down, some students went to sleep in preparation for tomorrow’s trip home, while others stayed up for a little while to enjoy each other’s company for a little while longer.  In the morning we’ll say goodby to Hodges and head home, taking the memories of the past three weeks with us!
