Charlie 2 Trip Update Day 15 – Luke, Mate
Today was one of the most fun-filled yet days for both crews. As everyone arose at 8:30 a.m. from a wonderfully long sleep, the breakfast crews had already stirred up some food for all to chow down on. At 10:00 a.m. both crews were all on shore at the Bitter End Yacht Club. Not surprisingly, everyone made a bee-line for the front desk where visitors can rent small sailboats like Hobie cats and Lasers. After a solid 2 hours of sailing, a squall started to bear down the channel, so students made their way to the pub to munch on chicken wings and sip some delicious virgin drinks. It was great to watch the massive downpours from the safety of the restaurant!
When the sun started peaking through the clouds again, students moved on to trying their hand at windsurfing, or roaming the shops. It wasn’t soon before both crews were back at the Hobies and Lasers, having a ball racing and capsizing the boats. Just before the day was over there was a cannon ball/flip/pose competition going on at the end of one of the docks. Then it was time to gather personal gear and head back to boats for a chicken dinner and early bedtime!
