Charlie 2 Trip Update Day 13 – Hannah, student

We started the day with an early wake-up so we could get the boat perfectly cleaned before we began the day’s activities. We had a quick breakfast of granola and yogurt, then made PB & J and Nutella Banana sandwiches for the day’s bagged lunch. We hopped in the dinghy and boarded the dive boat, ready for a full days work of Rescue diving. We worked on rescuing unconscious divers under water and giving them mouth-to-mouth at the surface. The weather stayed nice and sunny (except for a short squall) while we were in the water all day. After lunch we reenacted more rescue scenarios, such as towing and hauling injured divers onto the boat. Some of us went on a quick dive while others took a well-deserved break. We then had some fun and were timed as we jumped off the boat, approached an unresponsive diver at the surface, gave rescue breaths, and towed them back to the boat. The competition was fierce, yet I pulled out a win with 59 seconds!

After finishing an hour early, we made our way back to the boat, where we ate chips and salsa before showering/jellyfish wrangling. The boys also spotted a huge barracuda and a remora under our boat. Once we were finished, we feasted onĀ  noodles and vegetables. We then blasted some tunes whilst cleaning the boat. While waiting for the staff to come back from their staff meeting, the crew bonded over Ryn’s 7th Grade Brain Quest trivia facts. Due to the tiring day of Rescue diving, we all crashed at about 8:30 p.m., only to wake up to grab snacks at about 9:00 p.m. GOODNIGHT!!!
