Tango Day 14 Trip Update – Frazer, Program Director
This morning we got up to Lily and Marwan cooking us homefries and sausage! Once everyone was up, we sat down at the table and ate a nice meal before we had to immediately get going with the departure check list.
Right before we left Buck Island, Fray got in the ski boat and took all of our dirty laundry, linens, towels, and garbage ashore. As soon as Fray was off the boat, we pulled up anchor and headed down the Sir Francis Drake Channel where he caught up to us later. During our sail we got in some killer lessons on Right of Way rules, parts of the sail, and a knot review. Once we arrived at Cane Garden Bay on the backside of Tortola, we had a peanut butter and jelly picnic and enjoyed a little bit of down time before we had to meet up with our YEP group.
When we met up with YEP, we all walked through the CleanVI Glass Studio and watched a few demonstrations. The glass studio consists of local glass blowers who strictly use recycled glass that gets collected from all the local bars to create amazing art. Once our demo was over, we all headed back to the beach to enjoy a few games while we waited on the truck to arrive and pick up the YEP kids.
For the rest of the afternoon we hung out on the beach and on the boat. We then started showers and dinner prep of lemon pepper chicken. As soon as dinner was ready, we sat down to eat. And after dinner we all studied, and then took our Crew tests before boat meeting. After such a long day we were all excited for power down.
