Tango Trip Update Day 11 – Fray, Program Director
Today we woke up at Anegada to a breakfast of peanut butter toast with honey and sliced melon. Once we were finished eating we started gathering all our things for what would be a long day on shore. We hopped in the dinghy with everything we needed and motored to the dinghy dock, where a taxi was waiting. Once in the taxi we headed to the local Methodiest church to start painting the fence around the perimeter for some fun community service. We logged four hours of service today and had a great time while we were at it! It’s always nice to be able to see what you have accomplished, especially when you know many other people will be enjoying the outcome of your hard work. After the we finished our section of the fence, we hopped back in the taxi and headed for the Big Bamboo restaurant for a late lunch and fun beach time. While at the beach we split the boat into two teams and buried Marwan and Fray, turning them into sand art. Marwan was made into a snow man, while Fray was turned into a sand castle. We are still unsure of the winner of this event! We got some fun games in and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Once the sun started to set we got back in our taxi for the last time to head back to the boat for bucket showers and a quick dinner. Boat meeting was really fun and we can not wait to start working with the YEP group again tomorrow!
