Tango Trip Update Day 9 – Fray, Program Director
Today we woke up at Trellis Bay after a long night of rain. We immediately got up and ate breakfast so we could start our pre-departure check list for a nice long sail up to the Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda. During our sail to the North Sound we were able to complete some great lessons, including points of sail and sail trim. Once we had picked up a mooring ball at the Bitter End we started eating lunch right away so we could get to shore and do all of the fun things the location had to offer! Tubing, wake boarding, banana boating, small boat sailing, windsurfing, hiking, shopping, relaxing at the pub, and hanging out on the beach were the day’s sampling of activities, providing plenty of options for all of the students. Everyone had an especially fun time doing watersports and sailing the Hobie cats around the harbor. After a long, fun day on shore we dinghied back to boats to start dinner prep and take showers. Tonight we had “breakfast for dinner” that included french toast and orange juice. This was followed by a full boat clean and a boat meeting. The big activity of the night was hanging out at the pub with the Foxtrot and Sierra fleets! Students had a great evening mingling with new friends, sipping milkshakes, and playing pool and foosball. Tired from a fun-filled day, we powered down as soon as we returned to boats for the evening, getting a good night’s sleep before our big adventure to Anegada tomorrow!
