Alpha 2 Trip Update Day 13 – Elise, Program Director
Today the Alpha crew woke up to a surprise! As their sleepy eyes cracked open, the students realized, we were already underway sailing! As we arrived at our destination, the Alpha crew came above decks to see granite boulders right on the ocean with crystal clear water and pristine white beaches. We had arrived at the Baths on Virgin Gorda! Everyone headed ashore for an amazing hike through the impressive boulders and then swam around through a coral garden back to where we began. On the way back, the Alpha crew discovered Jump Rock! Everyone took turns jumping off the top of the rock into the water making different noises and sometimes even trying to look at each other instead of down at the water. This made jumping even more exciting!!! After we all got our jumping in for the day, it was back to boats for cleaning for docks! Then we all rolled into Hodges Creek for our last night on program to do skits and awards. Isle of Skye swooped Persephone on race day and Olympics but Persephone beat Isle of Skye in a long haul with the Chili Cookoff! Then for the skits, Jack and Logan did a hilarious piece about their counselors while on Isle of Skye, Frank, Lexi, Diana, and Isabelle made us all crack up impersonating their captain and mate. We finished the night with a final boat meeting and writing plane letters to each other. Everyone is excited for going home tomorrow and making the best of the last night of Alpha! It was a trip of a lifetime and the crew is all happy to spend one last night with each other!
