A short update from Delta 2, more details and photos to follow soon.
Yesterday there was great excitement amongst the divers. During their dive in the waters around Saba, the certified divers saw a VERY large sea turtle, which even the Sea Saba dive masters say is the biggest they have ever seen! Also, the Discover SCUBA divers were able to finish their work in the pool, and go diving in the afternoon. They saw Rock Lobster and lots of pretty Angel Fish. Those students who were not diving started their day with a hike up Mount Scenery: Saba’s tallest peak. The challenging trail is more than 2000 steps carved into stone that wind through a beautiful rainforest. At the end they had climbed so high they were up in the clouds! All agreed it was a great way to start the day.
Today crew and staff from both boats rode taxis to the windward side of Saba. There everyone ate lunch at Scout’s Place in the Windward Town, and visited Jo Beads’ glass studio where students have the chance to make their own glass beads!
Even though the weather today is not as sunny as usual, everyone is having a great time at Saba and looking forward to the upcoming sail to St. Eustatia.
