Tango Trip Update Day 5 – Fray, Program Director

Today we woke up at Great Harbor on Peter Island at 7 a.m. We had a nice breakfast of bagels and cream cheese and immediately moved on to our pre-departure check list after we finished eating. We dropped the ball at 7:45 a.m. and started our motor over to Buck Island. Before we arrived at Buck, we had an anchoring lesson which was followed by an actual anchoring (our first of the program!). At 10:0o a.m. we got in the ski boat and headed for the docks to get a ride in the truck over to the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) center for our first meeting with them.  YEP is an amazing organization that provides mentoring, educational services, and fun activities for local students.   We started our visit with some fun get to know you games that helped lighten the mood, getting everyone comfortable with each other. The kids had a blast playing Hubba Squeak (a tag-like game) and shooting some hoops with new friends.  After we were done with YEP we got back into the truck and took the ski boat back to the boat for lunch. Once we ate, the five boys went diving again, while the girls went back to shore for ice cream! Then it was time for a beautiful afternoon snorkel with Fray.  When the divers returned we showered and enjoyed a great veggie stir fry dinner.  An awesome day of new beginnings for Tango!
