Foxtrot 2 Trip Update Day 4 – Emma, Program Director

We started off the day with a satisfying bowl of cereal, followed by the divers’ first open water dive!  SCUBA diving is a great way to add a new dimension to students’ understanding of the sea — it truly opens up a new world to explore, and is something students can carry with them throughout their lives.  There’s nothing else like being suspended in crystal clear water,  completely weightless, and just zooming along next to fish and other sea life that normally you can only see from a distance.  Everyone was famished after the dives, and gobbled down a yummy lunch of pizza bagels.  Da Vinci and Van Gogh then dropped their mooring balls and raised sails for Great Harbor, where everyone had a chance to snorkel the nearby reef and do watersports in the well-protected harbor.  The it was time to tidy up for dinner, enjoy boat meeting with new friends, and head to bead!
