Charlie 1 Trip Update Day 5 – Robb, Captain & Assistant Program Director

Today the Charlie fleet had a bit of a busy morning as they continued with their awesome diving here in the British Virgin Island. After a great morning dive at the Indians, Buoyant Asset and Venture had some tuna fish sandwiches and headed out on a sail to circumnavigate Norman and Peter Islands. Around the windward side of the islands the waves and winds were up leading to some pretty exciting sailing! Jordan on Venture and Austin on Buoyant Asset skippered the boats in some intense conditions.

When fleet reached Little Harbor on Peter Island they had to Med anchor, which entails anchoring in shallow water and backing in close to shore to secure a line from the stern of the boat to shore.  Very few of the students had done this before, so it was a new challenge!  After both boats were secure, students spotted a big barracuda, and enjoyed some good quality swim time between boats.

Venture had a fantastic dinner of vegetable stir-fry prepared by Daniel and Jordan, and then the students went off to a night dive on the anchor of the RMS Rhone. It was a busy day today, and everybody enjoyed an early bedtime.
