Alpha 1 Trip Update Day 2 – Katelynn, Captain
Goodbye Village Cay, hello open ocean! After a morning filled with preparations to leave docks, Robyn finally de-docked the Isle of Skye, and we headed out to begin our two weeks of sailing around the British Virgin Islands. Although many on board were not experienced with big boat sailing, we got both our sails unfurled quickly and smoothly, and headed towards the Bight on Norman Island. After picking up the mooring ball for the first time ever on the second try, we hopped in the water for our first BVI swim. The water was magical, and after a couple of hours of jumping and swimming around, we were very sad to have to dry off to begin dinner prep. Bronte and Amanda were rock stars in the galley, and whipped us up some delicious burritos. The rest of the night was filled with some boat bonding time, and a silly dance party with our neighboring boat. Everyone on board is very excited to be here in the Caribbean, and looking forward especially to diving for the first time!
