Sierra 1 Trip Update Day 4 – Brittany, Student

When we first started this morning we had a bowl of cereal and then set off at 8:15 a.m. to meet the divers.  Today we completed our first and second open water dives, and let me tell you, there is more to the ocean than meets the eye!  We met Sail Caribbean Divers at the Bight on Norman Island and motored over to Rainbow Canyon, where we dove for 45 minutes.  During the surface interval, we headed for Angelfish Reef and had another spectacular dive there!  We had learned fish identification the night before so we were able to ID many fish, and of course let’s not forget the Hawksbill sea turtle.  We then returned to our home, Berlin, to eat lunch and sail to Great Harbor on Peter Island.  Our busy day finished with a short lesson on coral identification and an amazing snorkel where we saw a huge spotted eagle ray and quite a few other very large fish.  Dinner – mahi mahi – was made by the staff as a reward for the crew working so well together as a team. Yum! Time for bed now because tomorrow is looking like another great day!
